If CapCut text is not showing in the editor preview or during playback, start by checking the existing text layer rather than treating it as an export problem. A title or caption can appear missing because it is covered, hidden, outside its active timeline range, or too difficult to see against the background.
The steps below apply to text, titles and captions that have already been added to the project and are absent in the editor or preview.
Start with the visibility and timeline checks
CapCut identifies layer placement, timing, visual settings and animations as common reasons text does not appear. Select the existing text track in the timeline, then work through these checks in order.
- Check whether the text is covered or hidden. Look for video clips, images, stickers, overlays, or other elements sitting above the text. Move the text layer above the element covering it when needed.
- Move the playhead into the text layer’s active duration. Text is visible only while its timeline segment is active. If the playhead is before or after that segment, the preview will not show it.
- Check its position and size. The text may be off-screen, placed at an edge, or reduced to a size that is hard to notice. Reposition or enlarge the selected text layer to test whether it returns.
- Make the text visually distinct from the background. Check the color and opacity. Low opacity or a color that blends into the footage can make an otherwise active text layer look absent.
- Check entry animations. An entry animation can delay the text or make it seem missing at the current playhead position. Test the text later in its timeline range or remove the animation temporarily to isolate the cause.

Check missing text on CapCut Mobile, Desktop and Web
CapCut groups its official instructions by Mobile, PC and Web. The exact control names and panel layouts can differ between Android and iPhone, Windows and macOS, and current CapCut versions, so use the actions below rather than relying on one identical menu path.
CapCut Mobile on Android and iPhone
Select the text layer in the timeline. Confirm that the playhead is within its duration, then inspect whether another timeline element is covering it. Check the selected text’s position, size, color and opacity against the preview. Also review any entry animation, especially if the text appears only after a delay.
CapCut Desktop on Windows and macOS
In the desktop timeline, select the text track and compare its position with the video, image, and overlay tracks. Make sure the text is above anything that could obscure it, and place the playhead inside the text segment. Then check the preview after adjusting the text’s position, size, color or opacity. If an entry animation is applied, test the layer without it or preview further into its active range.
CapCut Web
Perform the same layer, timeline and visual checks in the web editor. If the selected text still does not display after those checks, refresh the page and open the project again. Refreshing is an official initial check for CapCut Web, but it will not resolve a text layer that is still covered, out of range, or visually blended into the background.
If the text is still missing after these checks
A temporary display issue or outdated software can affect how text appears, but these are not the only possible causes. If the layer order, timing, position, size, color, opacity and animation checks did not help, consider restarting CapCut and retesting. You can also update CapCut before trying the project again.
If the problem continues, contact CapCut support with useful details: your platform, CapCut version, whether the problem occurs in Mobile, Desktop or Web, and screenshots or a short screen recording showing the selected text layer, its timeline duration and the missing preview.
